When mixing modern farmhouse with stucco you get a different product than the typical hardie board or vinyl sided modern farmhouse. A standing seam metal roof and wood accents make these modern farmhouses more classic and even a touch more authentic!

Stucco is still the material most commonly used in the south, where the harsh sun is too much for wood or other materials, causing discoloration. Luckily for home owners, white stucco is classic, and looks great on all types of homes.

Of course, many in the North of the country will recognize stucco from a very luxurious French country style, which is used by top high end retailers like Restoration Hardware.

The more modest British Country style, perhaps not as grand as its cousin the French Country style, also prefers stucco, giving the home a simple and timeless look.

Spanish style homes also live the use of stucco, partly due to weather and dryness but also because historically this was a preferred material to make long lasting, hardy homes.

But in the event you want something more dramatic, stucco is also often used in modern homes and painted black or other colors for a moodier feel.
