As a designer, my process for a complete home design project begins with an interview that looks at what you have (land, a build site), what you like (photos and other inspiration) and what you need (for your family, your lifestyle and the enjoyment of your space). All of these factors together help create a vision of the type of property that would be ideal and meet your goals.
Once we have your information, we work with one of the several highly technically skilled home designers we trust to build your technical plans. These include architectural drawings in CAD software that take into account land, materials and other factors. This process creates the first iteration of your property, which we review in great detail, alter and edit until the plans we have available are just right.
The next phase of the complete home design process is to make materials selections, render those materials onto your home plan in optional 3D imagery to help visualize the exact products, and cost out the home build with our client’s selected build and our vendors for materials. Having exact plans on hand makes budget setting easier and more precise, as many potentially costly decisions have already been decided.
Lastly with the project getting built, we also create the environment including any landscaping, gates, pools, etc. Tying in the outdoors to the indoors helps to create an overall sense of unity, design and purpose for any homesite or commercial project and sets the focus on the experience of being at a property.
