A sophisticated classic home with exciting design elements is about finding harmony—where timeless charm meets bold innovation. By starting with a strong, understated foundation and layering in modern accents, textures, and finishes, you can create a home that feels both elegant and energizing. That’s exactly what happened with this tear down and rebuilding of a 90s classic home turned modern designed gem. Through the careful redesign of floorplans to the integration of multiple eras and styles, this Peaks Home in the well-known community of Mountain Tops took center stage.

Being in a rural area where people love to rustic designs, turning this very traditional home into something unique but natural required pulling in a lot of nature tones and local materials.
— Lucy Small

Peaks House walks a balance between natural and contemporary, after starting out as a very traditional 1990s suburban home. Though large, reorganizing the floor plan helped to bring functionality and flow to the home while the use of black and white contrast, and different tones of wood, helped to bring nature in. Textures and colors intermix for a completely unique design.

It all starts with a plan.

Staying true to the community and the bones of the home is sometimes challenging when the new product looks nothing like the old. Still, the development of carefully designed house plans to recreate everything from the frame of a house onwards was vitally important to achieve the final product of this show house. Experimentation in digital forms allowed the design to proceed with confidence and planning, with the final designs turning out even better than the rendered versions.
